Karen,

My name is Jason Jannati, and I am the Co-Owner of greeNEWit. My company is helping Stan organize this event. We are doing a lot of leg work so I would be more than happy to answer any questions you can come up with. Right now we are anticipating a band by the name of KB Drive, they have a easy listening sound, and resemble bands such as Sublime. The link to hear them is www.myspace.com/kbdrive.

I hope that answes some of your questions. Feel free to email me at Jason@greeNEWit.org

Have a great day!

OK, We are all set for the best party in the Park ever.  The GreeNEWit group is taking the lead and have locked in all arrangements for Alfa Ridge Park on July 19th 2008 with Rain date (Boo) set for the next weekend July 26, 2008.   Please see the attached flyer.

We need volunteers and sponsors.   So check out the attached flyer and contact Jason or Josh at GreeNEWit.

Space is limited so get in early.  Go to the Institute web site www.greenbuildinginstitute.org and click on the "register now" button.  You buy the $10 entry ticket (for $11 - $1 pays for the click and pledge fee) Plus $2 for drinks.  Buy them in advance and save standing in line.  OR send in, or drop by, a check for only the 10 plus drinks.  What a deal for a great picnic.

If any questions contact www.greenewit.org  or contact Jason@greeNEWit.org.

Once you pay, you will get an email confirmation ONLY. NO TICKETS WILL BE MAILED.  YOU'RE NAME GOES ON "THE LIST".  YOUR ORDERED AND PAID FOR DRINK TICKETS WILL BE AT "WILL CALL" THE DAY OF THE EVENT.

We may also be setting up a BEER_PONG table design and construction contest to be judged at the event.  An invitation only tournament for the competition entrants will be held later that night at the EnviroCenter if there is any beer left over from the event.  If not we'll get some more.  Rules for the competition will be posted soon.  Please leet Jason know if you are interested in participating in the design competition or to be part of a team for the tournament at the EnviroCenter.

Hope to see everyone there.  As this is the first Annual Green Festival we hope to make it a big fun party for all.  Spread the word,  become a member of the Green Building Institute and have some fun.

We continue to work out the details for this first of many Party in the Park.  Jenny from Howard County Recreation and Parks, a supporter of the Green Building Institute, met with us and we mapped out the use of Alfa Ridge Park for the event.  We are all looking forward to a great day.

Lyn & Leslye have worked to update the website and make it easier to navigate to buy tickets and be a sponsor.  Our first paid sponsor is posted.  Check it out. http://www.greenbuildinginstitute.org/pages/GreeNEWitFestival.html

Get your company on the list, get your logo and information out there.  I'm going to get our companies listed first thing Tuesday.  Most importantly, attend the event.  At only $10 per ticket we need alot of people and sponsors to make the event successful.

Stay tuned for updates as we move closer to the date.  We intend to show Howard County, the County who is really understanding the need for sustainability initiatives that hundreds can get together for a party in the park and that all waste will be composted, nothing will go to the landfill, we can minimize the burning of carbon and offset the rest.

If you believe in making a statement and show that we can have fun AND improve the environment, PLEAS JOIN US.

Wow,

The folks at greeNEWit (Jason and Josh) have been working themselves hard to pull off this absolutely awesome concert.

Great News!!!

Howard County Recreation and Parks is allowing us the entire park for the day. This means NO LIMIT to the people we can allow in.

Josh is updating the flyer we have 10 sponsors, a great band, a wonderful DJ, beer/wine/soft drinks, healthy food vendor, wiffle ball, playground grills, and two pavilions (to be reserved for families with children to use the central playground)

So that we can get somekind of a count as the on line Institute website is not the only judge of who is coming, I request that you RSVP by JULY 1, 2008 if you plan to attend and tell us how many will be coming.  Also, let us know if you paid on line or if you intend to show up and pay at the park. go to www.greenbuildinginstitute.org for info and also go to the Calendar to post your RSVP for the event.   I'll send a second link announcement to make it easier to navigate.

Thank you all - and I really look forward to seeing everyone at Alfa Ridge Park for a great Day.
